The center of the Malorita district. The district includes 77 rural settlements. It is administratively divided into 8 village councils: Velikoritskiy, Gvoznitskiy, Lukovsky, Mokransky, Oltushsky, Orekhovsky, Khotislavsky, Chernyansky.
The area of the district is 1,373 thousand km2. "Population – 22,973 people (as of 07/01/2023). Urban population – 12,850 people, rural population – 10,129 people."
