GERASIMUK STEPAN VASILYEVICH
Gerasimuk Stepan Vasilyevich, was born in 1947. Place of birth – Brest region, Maloritskiy district, Vysokoe village. Citizenship is the Republic of Belarus. He graduated from the Belarusian State Polytechnic Institute in Minsk in 1970 with a degree in energy engineering, and was awarded the qualification of an energy engineer.
He began his career in 1970 as the chief mechanic of a construction organization in Verkhnedvinsk, Vitebsk region. In 1972, he worked as an energy engineer, then as deputy chairman of the Malorita construction company. From 1975 to 1990 he worked in various positions in the district party committee, the regional party committee, studied at the Higher Party School, from 1991 to 1997 he worked as chairman of the Malorit district Executive committee, chairman of the Malorit district Council of Deputies, from 1997 to 2002 - director of the Lyceum of agricultural Production.
During his work, he has established himself as a skilled, competent and experienced organizer. For him, the simple man with his problems, worries and hopes always remained in the first place.
During the period of Stepan Vasilyevich Gerasimuk's leadership in the difficult 90s, it was possible not only to preserve, but also to increase the material base. Not a single school, kindergarten, shop, cultural center, library or FAP were closed in the area. Despite the difficult economic times, S.V.Gerasimuk managed to find funds that were directed to the improvement of the city of Malorita, the construction of houses, and the payment of salaries. In the 90s, a dance floor in the park for young people was built in Malorita for extra-budgetary funds, a cinema was restored, two 12-apartment houses for single elderly citizens and the disabled were erected. Much attention was paid to the improvement of the city. The central streets of the city and the city square were paved over. At that time, a telephone exchange equipped with imported equipment was put into operation. The issue of unemployment was resolved. By the decision of the district executive committee, heads of enterprises and organizations were given the opportunity to dismiss pensioners and arrange young specialists in their place.
Gerasimuk Stepan Vasilyevich still enjoys well-deserved authority among the citizens of the Maloritskiy district, heads of enterprises and organizations, and the district leadership.
The title of "Honorary Citizen of the Maloritskiy district" was awarded in 2019 for a significant personal contribution to the socio-economic development of the Maloritskiy district.
STEPANYUK STEPANIDA ALEKSEEVNA
Stepanyuk Stepanida Alekseevna was born in 1935. Since 2008, she has worked in the field of culture of the Maloritsky district: first as the head of the weaving circle of the regional Center of Folk Art, then as a methodologist-master of the same institution. Since June 2018, he has been on well-deserved rest.
Stepanida Alekseevna Stepanyuk is proficient in one of the oldest traditional crafts - weaving. She resumed the technology of weaving in the manufacture of the costume of the Malorite system. According to ancient technology, women's stage costumes were made for the “honored” amateur collective of the Republic of Belarus - the dance ensemble “Joy" of the Brest City House of Culture.
The periods of work in the field of culture are the bright stages of Stepanida Stepanyuk's creative activity. She is a regular participant of regional, regional, national and international exhibitions. Her works have been recognized not only in Belarus, but also abroad - Russia, Germany, Slovakia, Poland. She has repeatedly conducted master classes for children and adults in Belarus and Poland.
The authors of the republican television program “Naperad u minulae”, editors and journalists of regional and republican mass media came to visit Stepanida Alekseevna. With her participation, the Belarusian Video Center production and creative Republican enterprise shot a documentary film “Patterns of the Forest”.
The indispensable companion of the creative activity of the craftswoman is a folk song. Stepanida Alekseevna took an active part in all district, regional, republican folklore events. The folk song "Svite Misyachenko", recorded by S.A. Stepanyuk, entered the repertoire of the famous Belarusian artist Vitaly Prokopovich.
Stepanida Alekseevna received a letter of gratitude from the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus for the detailed mastery of weaving and embroidery technologies, the preservation of the best samples of the costume of the Malorite system. The Union of Masters of Folk Art of the Republic of Belarus also highly appreciated the skill of the weaver and she was awarded the honorary title of “People's Master of the Republic of Belarus”. She was awarded Diplomas from the Department of Culture of the Brest Regional Executive Committee and the Maloritskiy district Executive Committee.
Stepanyuk S.A. enjoys well-deserved respect and authority among cultural workers of the district and the region, among craftsmen of folk art.
The title of "Honorary Citizen of the Malorite district" was awarded in 2019 for the preservation and popularization of the traditions of folk culture and the restoration of the technology of weaving the costume of the Malorite system.
LEONID IVANOVICH LEONOV
He was born in 1930 in the Velezhsky district of the Smolensk region.
Leonid Ivanovich Leonov headed the collective farm "Lenin's Precepts" of the Maloritskiy district of the Brest region from 1953 to 2001.
The main credo is land and people, whose main task was to improve the lives of peasants in rural areas, put the land in order, start building farms, housing and socio-cultural facilities. The 60s of the last century for the collective farm "Lenin's Precepts" became a period of large-scale land reclamation. The area of farmland has increased to almost 3.5 thousand hectares. This made it possible to switch to an integrated crop cultivation system. At the end of the 60s, the "Precepts of Lenin" received 25-30 quintals of grain crops, 150-170 quintals of potatoes. At that time, it was a high yield obtained on light soils. In the 70s and 80s, the development of the economy went on at an even more intensive pace. During this period, industrial and social facilities appeared, which are still in operation today.
For many years of diligent work, he was awarded the Orders of Lenin, the October Revolution, and the Badge of Honor. Leonid Ivanovich Leonov is an Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus.

LEONID ARKADYEVICH TARANENKO
Born in 1956 in Malorita, Brest region.
Leonid Arkadyevich Taranenko is an honored Master of sports.
Champion of the Games of the XXII Olympiad in Moscow (USSR) in 1980 in the first heavyweight division. Silver medalist of the Games of the XXIV Olympiad in Barcelona (Spain) in 1992 in the second heavyweight division. World champion in 1980 in the first heavyweight and 1990 in the second heavyweight. 1980 European champion in the first and three–time champion in the second heavyweight division – 1988, 1991-1992. Two-time champion of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR - 1979, 1983. The winner of the Druzhba-84 tournament. He set 19 world records in the first and second heavyweight divisions.
Leonid Taranenko's world records in the clean and jerk are listed in the Guinness Book of Records – 266 kg and 475 kg in total, set by him in 1988 in the Australian city of Canberra at the Heavyweight Cup.
He was awarded the Orders of Friendship of Peoples and the Red Banner of Labor.
The title "Honorary Citizen of the Maloritskiy district" was awarded in 2015 for high sporting achievements, significant personal contribution to the development of the Olympic movement, mass sports and high-performance sports in the Republic of Belarus, popularization of sports and a healthy lifestyle in the Maloritskiy district.
YUKHIMUK VASILY FEODOSIEVICH
Born in 1954 in the village of Lukovo, Maloritskiy district, Brest region.
Vasily Feodosievich Yukhimuk has been the head of the Doropeevichi agricultural production cooperative since February 3, 1989, formerly the September 17 collective farm of the Maloritskiy district of the Brest region.
Under the leadership of Vasily Feodosievich, the farm is constantly achieving high performance, actively building and modernizing production facilities. The cooperative has repeatedly been the winner of regional and district competitions.
He enjoys well-deserved authority among the residents of the district, among the heads of agricultural organizations and the leadership of the district.
Yukhimuk V.F. takes an active part in public life. He is a deputy of the Maloritskiy district Council of Deputies and the Chernyansky village Council of Deputies.
For many years of conscientious work, a great contribution to the development of the agricultural industry and the achievement of high production indicators, Vasily Yukhimuk was awarded the medal "For Labor Distinction" and the Order of the Fatherland of the III degree.
